Discussions in Parliament to enact the 2026 Refugee Law have started.
During the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs, there were 38 stakeholders invited, including representatives from the Ministries of Education, Sports, and Youth; Labor; Social Insurance; Health; Social Welfare; the Legal Service of the Republic; Commissioners for the Protection of the Rights of the Child, Gender Equality, Protection of Personal Data, and representative of the Organisation of State Health Services (OKYPY), representatives of UNHCR and the IOM, as well as representatives from civil society organisations, such as KISA, Cyprus Refugee Council, Hope for Children, and Caritas.
