Switzerland has extended its support to Greece in managing migration through a new agreement signed in Athens on 13-14 October 2025. State Secretary for Migration, Vincenzo Mascioli, and Greek Migration Minister, Thanos Plevris, confirmed Switzerland's continued support for migration-related projects in Greece as part of Switzerland's second contribution to EU countries, which began in 2022.

The new phase, set to run from 2025 to 2029, will allocate CHF 28.65 million to enhance migration management, focusing on services for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers, early integration of refugees and strengthening asylum procedures.

Discussions during the visit also addressed challenges such as the protection of refugees and migrants with special needs.
