On 23 June 2025, COA announced that the plan to open a Service Centre in Zutphen had been stopped, following a motion of regret adopted by the Zutphen municipal council. The motion also requested that the municipal executive propose a way for residents and the council to be involved in any additional reception of asylum seekers in the future.
