The Government has introduced, through delegated legislation (Legal Notice 169 of 2025), amendments to the Immigration Appeals Board (Division) Regulations, S.L. 217.13. The number of Divisions of the Immigration Appeals Board (IAB) shall now be determined by the Minister responsible for immigration on the basis of the number of cases to be adjudicated, provided that one of the divisions shall operate on a full-time basis.
Furthermore, the assignment of cases between the divisions shall be made by the Secretary of the division which operated on a full-time basis, in such a manner that all division are assigned an equal number of cases as far as possible.
Remuneration paid to IAB members shall be in accordance with applicable directives and guidelines issued by the Government from time to time.
