The Croatian Ministry of the Interior has released its Migration and Asylum Management Plan until 2030, along with an Action Plan, for public consultation to ensure a transparent and inclusive adoption process. This is Croatia's first comprehensive strategic document addressing migration and asylum in a systematic way for the medium and long term.
The Plan aligns with the EU's new legislative framework and current security, economic, and humanitarian challenges, and was developed with the input of all relevant state bodies under the coordination of the Ministry of the Interior. It outlines five strategic goals: Combatting irregular migration Ensuring an effective and fair asylum system Promoting regular migration Enhancing integration and inclusion Strengthening cooperation with third countries.
An Inter-Ministerial Working Group which has already been established for the implementation of the Pact on Migration and Asylum and is led by the Ministry of the Interior, will oversee implementation and provide annual progress reports to ensure the plan remains transparent, controlled, and measurable.
