Almost 17,500 beneficiaries are currently in the reception system, waiting to be accommodated by a municipality.
The government provides municipalities with a one-off amount, when a beneficiary is accommodated. In addition, municipalities are reimbursed for the costs of transitionary accommodation.
The government also investigates other alternative solutions, such as targeted housing for beneficiaries of international protection, to avoid additional pressure on the social housing programmes. Beneficiaries are expected to contribute to the costs of their accommodation.
