COA signs 10-Year Agreement for the first Sustainable Municipal Reception in the Netherlands

The municipality of Hengelo and the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) have signed a 10-year agreement to establish the first Sustainable Municipal Reception (Duurzame Gemeentelijke Opvang, DGO) in the Netherlands, which is a reception location under the control of the municipality. This agreement will allow the municipality to manage the daily care of up to 425 asylum seekers and Ukrainian refugees in a renovated shelter which was previously used as a temporary shelter location.
