OPU expresses concern about legal aid reform

In April 2026, the Organisation for Aid to Refugees (OPU) issued a press release to express concern about the government’s reform of the provision of legal aid. According to the press release, the transferring of aid provision to a law firm is not only an economically disadvantageous solution for the state budget but may also compromise the quality and continuity of assistance.

Through a separate press release the government clarified that the aim of the legal aid reform is to unify the system of providing legal aid and eliminate duplication.
