The Finnish Immigration Service reiterates that all asylum applications are individually assessed in line with the EU common criteria

Following media discussions about decisions taken on applications for asylum made by Russians, the Finnish Immigration Service clarified that there have been no changes in the guidelines for processing such cases and all applications are being assessed on individual basis according to EU and international standards. Moreover, based on the changes brought by the Pact on Migration and Asylum, asylum applications are examined in a more uniformed manner.

Thus, the Finnish Immigration Service applies the same standards and criteria for Russian asylum applicants as for applicants from other third countries.
