Federal Council publishes its 2025 report

The Federal Council published its 2025 Report on Switzerland’s foreign migration policy

Both asylum applications and applications for protection status S decreased in 2025, while more than 71,000 people continued to receive temporary protection linked to the war in Ukraine. 

The report also details Switzerland’s implementation of migration and asylum reforms related to the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, its financial support for migration-related projects in the areas of asylum, return and reintegration with Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria, and its participation in European solidarity mechanisms.
