SEM launches tender for community interpreter services in federal asylum centres

The State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) launched a new public tender seeking agencies to provide community interpreters for federal asylum centres across Switzerland. The interpreters will support communication between asylum applicants and staff, particularly during medical appointments and meetings with social workers and educators, including those working with unaccompanied minors.

The tender aims to centralise the organisation of interpretation services, which have until now been managed independently by individual regions, in order to improve coordination and efficiency nationwide.

The call for tenders is published on the Swiss public procurement platform simap.ch (SIMAP reference 40354). Interested bidders have until 31 August 2026 to submit their offers.
