On 12 June, the Minister of Migration and Asylum and the Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum participated in the Informal Council of Migration Ministers of the European Union, which was held in Nicosia. The aim was to inaugurate the implementation of the New European Pact on Migration and Asylum.
During their interventions, they emphasized that the credibility of the new European framework will be assessed on the basis of its effective implementation, with an emphasis on the protection of external borders, rapid screening and control procedures for persons who have entered illegally, and substantial reinforcement of returns.
