Ministry of Immigration and Asylum publishes January 2026 data on unaccompanied minors

he Ministry of Immigration and Asylum published a factsheet on unaccompanied minors in Greece in January 2026. According to the factsheet, the estimated number of unaccompanied minors in Greece was 1,909 of whom:

  • 93% boys
  • 7% girls
  • 13% < 15 years old
  • 1,282 in accommodation centres
  • 204 in semi-independent living apartments
  • 119 in emergency accommodation structures
  • 254 in Reception and Identification Centres (RICs) and Closed Controlled Access Centres (CCACs) on the islands
  • 50 minors in Controlled Accommodation Facilities for Asylum Seekers.
     

The accommodation capacity for unaccompanied minors was:

  • 1,745 places in accommodation structures (accommodation centres/semi-independent living apartments); and
  • 153 places in emergency accommodation facilities.
