The SMA published a report analysing voluntary repatriation in which the Agency concluded that information efforts have contributed to increase awareness about the procedure and, consequently, the submission of more applications for voluntary repatriation. The report highlights the importance of strengthening cooperation with other organisations involved, such as IOM and UNHCR, and notes that financial support is not sufficient, information, qualified advice and support before and after departure are key in the process.
