As of 15 July 2026, the Swedish Migration Agency (SMA) will temporarily halt the production of statistics on asylum to avoid incorrect or misleading data until the case management system is adjusted to the changes introduced by the new regulation. This includes, for example, data on applications for international protection, obstacles to enforcement, screening and returns.
Once the updated case management system is in place, the SMA will publish data retroactively.
