The Ombudsperson visited the National Police Immigration Centre in Trandum on 23–25 November 2025. The aim of the investigation was to uncover whether there was a risk of inhuman or degrading treatment of the detainees. The visit included inspections, interviews and a review of documents. The immigration detention centre was not previously notified of the time of the visit. The Ombudsperson will then prepare a report which will contain descriptions of findings uncovered during the visit and relevant recommendations.
