The Ministry of Justice and Public Security circulated for consultation a proposal to adopt new regulations on returns and reintegration. The new regulations will replace the current ones on subsidies for assisted and forced return. The purpose of the change is primarily to allow immigration authorities to make greater use of offers from the EU's border agency Frontex on travel logistics and reintegration programmes. The ministry proposes, among other things, that the target group be expanded so that those with a duty to return who qualify for a reintegration programme from Frontex are also included.
The consultation deadline is on 30 June 2026.
