A tender for youth health care has been awarded to GezondheidsZorg Asielzoekers, GZA (Asylum Seeker Healthcare) as of 1 June 2027. In the meantime, a temporary solution was needed to ensure the continuity of healthcare following the expiry of the current agreement on 1 October 2026. During this interim period, GGD GHOR Nederland (Municipal Public Health Services and the Regional Medical Assistance Organisations) will provide healthcare for asylum seeker children. Youth health care is separate from regular general practitioner care or acute medical care available to asylum-seeker children. It covers preventative health care, such as consultations for babies and young children, vaccinations, growth checks, developmental examinations and the identification of problems in the field of health, development and upbringing.
