The Minister for Asylum and Migration issued a six month decision and departure moratorium concerning Lebanon

In light of the escalating and unpredictable situation in Lebanon due to the war between Israel and Hezbollah, the Minister for Asylum and Migration has issued a six-month decision and departure moratorium for asylum applications from people from Lebanon. This mainly concerns Lebanese applicants, and (stateless) Palestinians for whom Lebanon is considered a country of habitual residence. Additionally, it was announced that no forced returns of rejected asylum seekers to Lebanon will be carried out during this period.
