The extension applies to all asylum applications submitted between 1 January 2025 and 1 January 2026. The usual decision time limit of 6 months is extended with 9 months.
Thus, the IND must deliver its decision within 15 months. The first decision on the extension of time limit started to apply for applications submitted after 27 September 2022, and this measure has been in place through several prolongations since then.
