The Minister for Home Affairs and Security, Glenn Bedingfield, reaffirmed Malta’s commitment to a close cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) following an introductory meeting held with the IOM Chief of Mission for Italy and Malta and Representative to the Holy See, Salvatore Sortino. During the meeting, discussions took place regarding the longstanding cooperation between Malta and the IOM on migration management, with a focus on key areas including assisted voluntary return and reintegration, relocation and resettlement programmes, counter smuggling initiative and ethical labour migration.
