In February 2026, the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum issued a tender for intercultural mediation in health services, under the North Aegean Regional Development Plan, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF+). The aim is to provide in-person and remote intercultural mediation/interpretation in health services in order to ensure access to service and equal and effective communication for third-country citizens with doctors, nursing staff and the administration of health units. Implementation will be undertaken by healthcare structures in the North Aegean Region and non-governmental organisations.
