Ministry of Immigration and Asylum publishes January 2025 data on unaccompanied minors in Greece

The Ministry of Immigration and Asylum published a factsheet on unaccompanied minors in Greece in January 2025. According to the factsheet, the estimated number of unaccompanied minors in Greece was 2,408 of which:

  • 90% boys
  • 10% girls
  • 13.1% < 15 years old
  • 1,434 in accommodation centres
  • 215 in semi-independent living apartments
  • 129 in emergency accommodation structures
  • 448 in Reception and Identification Centres (RICs) and Closed Controlled Access Centers (CCACs) in the islands
  • 182 minors in Controlled Accommodation Facilities for Asylum Seekers
     

The accommodation capacity for unaccompanied minors was:

  • 1,775 places in accommodation structures (accommodation centres/semi-independent living apartments); and
  • 155 places in emergency accommodation facilities.
