FRA presents updated guidance on fundamental rights monitoring mechanisms in asylum and screening procedures

On 27 March , FRA (European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights) presented its updated guidance to the EU Council's Asylum Working Party on establishing national independent mechanisms to monitor fundamental rights compliance during screening and asylum border procedures. 

The presentation contributed to discussions on how to implement this requirement, which is part of the Screening and Asylum Procedure Regulations. Additionally, FRA highlighted its ongoing work on developing a common methodology for monitoring fundamental rights compliance under the EU Pact.
