EMN report highlights the need for cross-border cooperation to tackle human trafficking

A recent EMN report emphasised a significant rise in the number of third-country nationals in the EU who are victims of human trafficking. The EU and its Member States are increasingly cooperating with countries of origin to tackle the issue, implement preventive measures and better coordinate law enforcement across borders.  


The report also highlights the sharp rise in the rate of human trafficking which happens online.
