The Commission identifies Estonia at risk of migratory pressure in the first Annual Migration Cycle

Go back to the Recent Developments Timeline

In the first Annual Migration Management Cycle under the Pact on Migration and Asylum, the European Commission identified Estonia, among other Member States, as being at risk of migratory pressure. As a result, Estonia will have priority access to the EU Migration Support Toolbox, and its situation will be re-evaluated swiftly should conditions change. The Commission also noted that Estonia, among other Member States, faces a significant migratory situation due to cumulative pressures over the past five years and may therefore request a partial or full deduction from its contributions to the Solidarity Pool.

This will apply from the full entry into application of the Regulation on Asylum and Migration Management (AMMR).
