The Danish Immigration Service is converting the Hviding Centre into a residence centre for displaced persons from Ukraine. The conversion will take place on an ongoing basis from October 2026. The Hviding Centre has so far operated as a regular residential centre. Its current residents will be relocated to other centres within the accommodation system.
The Danish Immigration Service’s decision is based on general capacity adjustments, as well as the expiry of the limited-term lease for the former Holstebro Hospital in the first quarter of 2027. The Holstebro Hospital Centre mainly accommodates displaced persons from Ukraine.
The Danish Immigration Service continuously assesses the need to adjust capacity across the accommodation system to meet changing needs.
