Missing Children Europe published a new research report with the title "Refinding Your Voice: Ukrainian Youth Facing Forced Displacement in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland". The report was produced with the support of the YoU Decide Youth Advisory Board, ITAKA Poland, the Organisation for Aid to Refugees (OPU) Czechia and TdH Hungary.
According to the press release by OPU Czechia, the report shows the life experiences, aspirations and challenges of displaced youth from Ukraine who are transitioning to adulthood in Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. It is based on participatory research with 288 young people and an online survey with 264 respondents.
The research project sheds light into “how evolving ‘life projects’ and forced displacement translate into young people's access to education, employment, housing, healthcare and other support services. Gaps in support systems tailored to the needs of young people can increase vulnerability to risks such as disappearance, exploitation at work or trafficking in human beings. Despite their resilience and ambition, Ukrainian displaced youth face structural obstacles.”
