The implementation of the EU Voluntary Solidarity Mechanism was completed on 10 June 2026. 3,039 applicants for international protection were relocated from Cyprus to other EU Member States. The completion of the programme confirms the effectiveness of the operational coordination between the Republic of Cyprus, the European Commission, the European Agency for Asylum (EUAA), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the participating Member States.
