Federal Council increases funding for integration programmes

The Swiss Federal Council approved a commitment credit of CHF 334.5 million for integration measures between 2028-2032. The additional funding responds to the growing number of beneficiaries and will support both cantonal integration programmes (ICP 4) and national integration initiatives.

Under the new programme period, the Confederation will invest CHF 66.9 million annually, representing an increase of CHF 5.4 million per year compared to the current funding cycle. Of this amount, CHF 37.3 million per year will be allocated to cantons for measures such as language learning, information and counselling services, and supporting access to education and the labour market. Cantons will be required to provide at least an equivalent level of co-financing.

The new framework focuses on removing integration barriers for women and strengthening educational and vocational pathways that facilitate sustainable labour market integration.
