Multicultural Department of the Icelandic Labour Authority publishes annual report

The Multicultural Department of the Icelandic Labour Authority published its annual report, which summarises the main statistics and developments related to immigrants, foreign nationals and refugees in 2025.It covers demographic trends, the labour market, the education system, applications for international protection and the reception of refugees, as well as other aspects related to the status and participation of foreigners in Icelandic society.

Data in the report show that the number of immigrants continues to increase, especially among people of working age, and their contribution to population growth and the country's economy is significant. The findings also shed light on the challenges that still exist, including in the areas of language, education, job security and social inclusion.
