The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and the ”la Caixa” Foundation have renewed their collaboration for the “Tend a hand. Welcome” programme. This is an initiative designed to facilitate the social integration of refugees who have international or temporary protection and who are part of the International and Temporary Reception and Protection System (SAPIT).
The programme aims to connect these people with Spanish families willing to offer them a home for at least six months, a key period for their stability and inclusion.
The task of the Ministry of Inclusion, through the State Secretariat for Migration, is to identify SAPIT people who meet the requirements to participate, assign them a host family and a reference entity that will accompany them on their integration journey. For its part, the ”la Caixa” Foundation evaluates and validates the suitability of Spanish families interested in hosting, thus guaranteeing a safe and committed environment.
