Passerell raises concerns over reported refusals to register asylum applications in Luxembourg

In a press release, the NGO Passerell raised concerns about reported refusals by the Directorate-General of Immigration to register applications for international protection. The organisation stated that it had documented several such cases throughout the summer, including six on 17 August alone, among them an unaccompanied minor and a vulnerable young woman. Passerell noted that the actual number of cases could be higher. The NGO called on the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Directorate-General of Immigration to ensure the systematic registration of applications for international protection, in accordance with Luxembourg’s legal obligations.
