The Director of the Reception and Integration Agency (RIA) has approved the "Description of the Procedure for Ensuring the Quality of Reception and Assessing Conditions for Foreign Nationals". The document establishes a structured mechanism for the systematic assessment and continuous improvement of the quality of reception services provided by the Agency.
Based on recommendations of the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) and relevant EU directives, the framework provides for comprehensive assessments of the Agency’s reception centres in Pabradė, Rukla and Vilnius at least once per calendar year.
The assessments will cover a range of areas, including infrastructure and material conditions such as accommodation and food, as well as human resources and the quality of services provided, including information provision and healthcare.
Particular attention will be given to ensuring appropriate reception conditions for vulnerable persons, persons with disabilities and minors, including the consideration of their specific reception needs and the best interests of children.
Assessment committees comprising Agency staff and external asylum experts will be established to support an objective evaluation of existing conditions, identify shortcomings in a timely manner and recommend or initiate appropriate corrective measures. The overall aim is to contribute to ensuring adequate living conditions for all persons accommodated in the Agency’s reception centres.
The approved framework establishes a consistent, transparent and measurable approach to monitoring and improving the quality of the reception system.
