Ministry of the Interior publishes Quarterly Migration Report for Q2 2026

The Ministry of the Interior published a quarterly report on the migration situation in Czechia and on the main migration routes to the EU. The document provides current statistics on the number of foreigners legally residing in Czechia, data on international and temporary protection, returns and integration of foreigners. It also includes an overview of the development of irregular migration in Czechia and on the external borders of the EU.

As of 30 June 2026, a total of 1.4 million persons of foreign nationality were registered in Czechia. Compared to the end of the first quarter, their number increased by 16,026 persons (1.43%). The share of foreigners in the total population of Czechia reached 10.47%. Third-country nationals continued to predominate among foreigners, and the largest group was made up of citizens of Ukraine, who represented more than one-half of all registered foreigners.

A significant factor influencing the number of foreigners remains the provision of temporary protection in connection with the Russian military aggression against Ukraine. As of the end of June, there were 391,000 active registrations for temporary protection. At the same time, more than 360,000 people extended their temporary protection until March 2027.
