The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia has been actively striving for the conclusion of a status agreement between Frontex and Bosnia and Herzegovina for a long time.
The government of Slovenia believes that the deployment of the European Border and Coast Guard standing corps with executive powers will have a positive impact on both the management of Bosnia and Herzegovina's borders and the management of the EU's external borders.
Besides, the conclusion of the agreement will represent a major step forward in the EU's efforts to develop and implement European Integrated Border Management in the Western Balkans region and to manage migration flows along the Western Balkans migration route.
