Go back to the Recent Developments Timeline

The Federal Department of Justice and Police (FDJP), the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) signed a new 2025–2028 agreement to reinforce Switzerland’s interdepartmental collaboration on external migration policy. Switzerland’s coordinated external migration approach seeks to address the causes of forced displacement, prevent irregular migration and improve living conditions in origin and transit countries through humanitarian aid, peacebuilding, human rights, and development cooperation.
